Work Day!

The target trail is Cowbell Hollow starting at Round Knob and down to Old Forge. This will be a WALKING work day- no horses as the trail is narrow & not suited for tying off. The task is brushing out rhododendron, saplings, and weed growth. Tools required are small chain saws, toppers, bladed weed eaters, and hand snips. One person will be assigned the task of nailing new trail markers to trees. Brandon will have markers and nails. Richard will have a hammer. We will meet  at the old Forge campground at 9:30am, gather in two trucks and drive up to Round Knob. The trail is only about a mile but quite overgrown. There are several creek crossings as we progress downhill (consider wearing tall rubber boots). We have no awareness of bees on this trail, but it is that time of year.
