Outpost 1 will be having a combined meeting and workday on Saturday, September 12th.
We will meet at the Meadow Creek Fire Tower on Meadowcreek Firetower Road off 107 (Houston Valley Rd) at 9:00 AM for the meeting. Then we will install our new hitching rails and do some touch-up painting on the tower to cover graffiti. We will be installing 20 feet of hitching rails to allow visitors to the tower to tie their horses in the shade while enjoying the incredible views the tower affords. This is an area that is utilized by many horseback riders, so we are excited to provide this amenity as well as to foster good relations with our Forestry Service.
We will be having a plaque made to install at a later date commemorating BCHET’s contribution to this project.
This is a non-riding workday so you can drive all the way up to the tower for easy access.
