You’ve heard of stomping the divots? Well we’re going to pack the parking lot! We are hoping that gravel and grading are complete. We still need to pack the lot and in an effort to save money we are going to use our rigs to get the job done🤠.
Join Outpost 3 for a parking lot pack down followed by a meeting and a ride right out of the brand new Walnut Mountain Parking Lot and trailhead. You can explore the area on your own or join up with fellow riders for a nice ride on forest service roads. Everyone is welcome.
Be sure and wear your orange. While all riding will be on open road beds we still want to take all precautions.
Please keep in mind that cell service is limited to nonexistent in this area. Make sure you save the directions on paper or in your phone notes in the event you lose mapping abilities.

Plug into your map app and you should be set.
Traveling from the town of Roan Mountain heading toward NC on Hwy 19 E you will take a left on to Buck Mountain Rd. You will remain on Buck Mountain Rd until it runs into Walnut Mountain Rd at an intersection with Blevins Road. Go straight across to pick up Walnut Mountain Rd. Buck Mountain goes off to the right. The parking lot is exactly 6.3 miles from 19 E.
